Publicación Acceso abierto Prefactibilidad del proyecto: implementación del mecanismo de desarrollo limpio en plantación de Eucalipto Glóbulus(Universidad EIA, 2011) Medina Arboleda, Maribel; Girón Monsalve, Carlos Alberto; Betancur Toro, Mario H.ABSTRACT: The Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) is an economic incentive program established by United Nations, It's a program to promote new investments in reforestation that reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG). These incentives can be used in commercial reforestation projects in Antioquia’s department and even more in Colombia The Clean Development Mechanism system has a demand and supply global market to commercialize Certified Emission Reductions (CER), which are audited and verified by the Executive Board of United Nations. The CDM projects in plantations must comply with review and approval formulation stages according to the established regulation; furthermore they must be evaluated by specialized auditors from the country where the project is implemented. Each Certified Emission Reductions (CER) certificate corresponds to one metric ton of carbon dioxide equivalent to the mitigated one and its price is subject to the global trading market. Currently, Colombia has suitable areas for the development of this type of projects, like it’s been exposed in this draft, the Eucalyptus Glóbulus plantations represent a potential for the implementation of clean development mechanisms due to his productive period and his CO2 capture.
