Publicación Acceso abierto Implementación y aplicación de algoritmos Retinex al preprocesamiento de imágenes de retinografía color(2014-04-24) Durango-Londoño, N. (Natalia); Bizai, G. (Gustavo); Drozdowicz, B. (Bartolomé)Diabetic retinopathy is a disease caused by complications of the retina, with progressive evolution. This pathology is detected on the fundus eye images, which in most cases have non-uniform illumination. In this paper four type of algorithms, based on the Retinex theory, were implemented and applied to fundus images in order to provide better illumination for later visualization or processing. The purpose was to find more accuracy to detect the presence or not of the disease and thus to get a more accurate approach of diagnosis.Publicación Acceso abierto Prototipo de incubadora neonatal(2014-04-19) Restrepo-Pérez, L. (Laura); Durango-Londoño, N. (Natalia); Gómez-Suárez, N. E. (Nicolás Eugenio); González-Ramírez, F. (Felipe); Rivera-Bonilla, N. (Nadia)Newborn and premature infants incubators provide a controlled environment for infants which need special care. The constructed prototype has the potential to cover the minimal needs in a hospital, in a way that medical staff may control the newborn environment. This article reports the design and construction of the prototype included research for selecting and building the elements of the prototype: the chassis, hood, mattress case, and a power source. Different transducers were included in the incubator for measuring temperature, luminosity, noise, humidity, and a door alarm. The purpose of these was to guaranty the proper conditions for the newborn. The constructed prototype is fully functional and constitutes a first step for building newborn incubators with appropriated technology.
