    The differences between the planned work and the executed work on highway projects are given because of inadequate quality of the structuring of the same (Cámara Colombiana de la Infraestructura, 2010b), which makes it generates additional work and extra work that had not been planned from the start, leading to turn to that present a time lag of projects. Due to the wide recurrence of this phenomenon in the country and the importance given to the Departamento de Antioquia road infrastructure, it identifies the need for a study of road projects of the Department, taking fifteen contracts vials culminated in the Gobernación de Antioquia.

    In Colombia the financial conditions that are ask in public tenders are require without the existence of a technical base to back them. This happens because of the lack of a spread knowledge of the financial reality of companies. This study is one step towards getting to know the financial behavior of the enterprises that are part of the heavy construction industry, using the financial information reported to the authorities during 2012.
