RESUMEN: El siguiente Trabajo de Grado propone un Sistema de Gestión de Inventarios con el cual se busca que las empresas distribuidoras de motocicletas de bajo cilindraje en el Valle de Aburrá logren disminuir sus costos logísticos. Luego de realizar una encuesta a diferentes distribuidoras de motocicletas se obtuvo un diagnóstico de las diferentes problemáticas que atraviesa el sector. Con esta información y aprovechando los conocimientos adquiridos durante los estudios de Ingeniería Industrial de los realizadores del trabajo, se desarrolló modelo de gestión de inventarios. El sistema de inventarios propuesto, consiste en una clasificación ABC de las motocicletas por su volumen de ventas, junto con un control conjunto de datos y la utilización de un mejor pronóstico para obtener de esta forma un conocimiento del comportamiento de la demanda y una mejor y más adecuada capacidad de respuesta al cliente final.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this work is an Inventory Management System which aims to reduce the logistics costs for companies who distribute low cylinder capacity motorcycles in the “Valle del Aburrá”. After a survey of different motorcycle distributors, the information that was obtained give us various problems who affect the industry. We could take advantage of these situation and based on our knowledge acquired during our studies of Industrial Engineering developed a model which it will be explained below. Excessive stock, damage to motorcycles, different models and costs of storage and transportation, etc, are variables that influence the management systems of distributors; who day after day are looking to improve their efficiency without correct knowledge of all these variables that will influence costs. After an analysis of the different possibilities, the proposed inventory system is an ABC classification of motorcycles by sales with a control data set. This will allow the use of a better forecast to obtain better knowledge of the demand behavior and therefore get a better and more appropriate answer for the customer.
